The QPAA operates a licenced bar and function room in the Jim O'Sullivan Recreation Club of the Qld Police Academy.

The Recreation Club is a purpose built facility paid for by funds directly generated by the Academy Association and contains a full serviced bar as well as a dedicated function room. The recreation club is staffed with a bar manager casual staff and committee member volunteers. The bar operates Monday to Thursday 4pm - 10pm, Friday 4pm - 7pm (licenced until midnight) and Saturday/Sundays for private functions. The Jim O'Sullivan Recreation Club function room is available for hire for private functions, including police functions, birthday/engagement/christmas parties or even wedding receptions. With over 25 local and imported beers, full range of spirits/wines, non alcoholic drinks and newly introduced coffee shop, combined with our jukebox, pool tables, deck and BBQ area makes the Jim O'Sullivan Recreation club the perfect private function venue. All profits from bar sales are used to promote healthy lifestyles for QPS members - by providing equipment and facilities, as well as providing financial assistance for medical conditions/illness, sporting representation, or cultural or academic endeavours. Please Note: The Jim O'Sullivan Recreation club is a licenced premise and supports the Responsible Service of Alcohol. Hirers must be serving police officers/police service employees or associated family members.
